Bill Greener III

Bill Greener III is an experienced political communicator with many decades in the field. He is the founding partner of Greener and Hook, LLC, serving individual companies, trade associations, and ad hoc groups facing situations involving public policy, public opinion, and political considerations. In addition, the firm continues to service Republican candidates, Republican organizations, and conservative Super PACs. The firm’s emphasis is in strategic communications, offering clients products and services ranging from basic public relations to advertising and digital activity.


Through the years, Greener has held a wide array of posts in government, politics, and private business. He served as Director of Public Affairs at the Department of Energy, Special Assistant in the White House Office of Communications, and media relations at the Treasury Department. In addition to being both Director of Communications and heading the Political and Communications Divisions at the Republican National Committee (RNC), Greener was the CEO for the 1996 Republican National Convention, Program Coordinator for the 2008 Convention, Program Director for the 2016 Convention, instrumental in planning and executing the 2020 Convention, and Executive Producer for Public Ceremonies and Events for the 2017 Inauguration of President Trump. He has been Vice President for Communications and State Affairs at International Paper, Vice President for Public Affairs at Wheelabrator Technologies, and Executive Vice President at Smith & Harroff.


He is a graduate of Washington & Lee University, and did his graduate work in experimental psychology at Miami of Ohio University. He and his wife reside principally in New Bern, North Carolina. They have four adult children.
