RepublicanAds.com Shows You How to Make Eye-Catching Banner Ads for FREE That Win Over Your Voters
Why Banner Ads?
If you’ve come this far, you probably already know the importance of using digital advertising in your political campaign’s marketing strategy. Digital advertising is a well-established political campaign strategy used by everyone from presidential candidates to your local city council race. Running digital ads not only increases a candidate’s name ID but also allows for more precise voter messaging and takes only minutes to set up.
While RepublicanAds.com created an award-winning platform that easily lets you serve the messages you want to your exact voters in less than 10 minutes (no experience necessary), understanding what type of creative formats to use and how they should look can be overwhelming!
That’s why we wrote this official guide to creating your own set of banner ads for free!
Banner (aka display) ads are the easiest to create, highly effective, and can be served on almost every website and app your voters visit on a daily basis. In this guide, we go over how to create your own digital campaign ads with the popular online design tool, Canva. And later, how to use these ads in your very own voter-targeted RepublicanAds.com digital ad campaign.
While it’s ideal to work with a design firm to create your campaign’s look and feel, we understand that it’s not always available. That’s why we created this guide to help you utilize free resources to run an effective digital campaign.

2. Get Started with Our Voter-Optimized Templates
While there are plenty of templates available on Canva (just search “election ads” in the search bar), we went ahead and created a set of voter-optimized banner ads based on the design elements our winning candidates used in their ads. Our customized templates are sized to work with the most popular sites on the internet.
To create banner/display ads, click on the URLs below to access our templates.
Once you click “Use Template” in the new browser tab, Canva will copy the design to your own account. From there, feel free to adjust the colors, upload your own images, or adjust the fonts to match what your campaign already uses.

3. How to Get the Most Out of Your Ads
It can be tempting to put anything and everything on your ad! However, keep in mind the following to make sure that your ad sticks with voters, complies with election law, and doesn’t get flagged for policy violations:
Keep it simple - Make sure your ads are clear, concise, and easy to read.
Name ID - Name recognition is critical. Prominently display your name and logo in your ads.
More ads = more votes - You can create more than one set of ads with different messages and create multiple digital campaigns to compare the results.
Include a disclaimer - Remember, all political ads, even “Issue Advocacy” ads have to have legible ‘Paid for By’ disclaimers. More information can be found in the RepublicanAds.com help center.
The sizes included in the RepublicanAds.com templates are industry standards, ensuring compatibility across various websites and advertising networks to ensure your ad is being seen everywhere political digital ads are accepted for your target voter audience.
